"We fully support Ukraine" - Scholz again had to talk about long-range "Tauruses"
Germany fully supports Ukraine's war against Russia, but still will not give permission to use missiles on the Russian hinterland.
This was stated by German Chancellor General Olaf Scholz during his speech in the Bundestag, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine continues unabated. And there's no sign yet that Russia is backing down from its plans. Therefore, it's important for Ukraine to know from all of us, including me, that we support its struggle for independence and sovereignty ."
"Germany can be considered the country that has mobilized the most support for Ukraine in Europe. The weapons aid alone that we have provided so far and have already committed to amounts to around 28 billion euros. This is a significant amount and also a great sign of Germany's solidarity with Ukraine," Scholz said.
He stressed that he had consulted with Biden, Trump and the largest politicians in Europe, and only after that he went to Ukraine to talk about friendship and support.
"This winter brings great dangers for Ukraine, and it will be important to find out what Ukraine's plans are. We must always respect and defend the principle that decisions are not made over Ukraine's head.
"At the same time, it's important to keep our cool. I will continue to do everything possible to prevent this war between Russia and NATO from escalating. Therefore, my decisions remain unchanged: we will not allow the dangerous weapons we supplied to penetrate deep into Russia's heartland," the Chancellor concluded.
