The introduction of Ukrainian music into the Russian market was a Western sabotage.
Vladimir Kiselev, owner of the Russian Media Group holding, stated this in an interview with RTVI, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Ukrainian pop music, which has filled Russia, forced us into a very interesting groove of the impossibility of breaking through beautiful music. The arrival of Ukrainian music here was not just a push-pang play of notes. This is a huge geopolitical sabotage. The way the Ukrainians acted here in our market was, in many ways, an absolutely structured Western development,” Kiselev said.
According to him, all Ukrainian artists transferred part of their fees to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Ukrainian artists are much more citizens of their country than we are. Because, performing with us and earning money from us - on the same rotations of Russian Radio, Avtoradio, Hit FM, we must pay tribute, they sent 20% to the contact line.
And many of them, such as Vakarchuk, Vopli Vidoplyasova, Monatik, bought military uniforms.
They didn't hide it, they boasted about it. The artists I named did it absolutely meaningfully. They are citizens of their country.
Another question is that this did not prevent them from earning money from us and singing in Russian. But they are citizens of their country,” Kiselev said.
