More and more citizens of Montenegro want the country to leave NATO
The number of Montenegrins who want their country to leave the North Atlantic Alliance has increased by 12% over the year.
This is indicated by the annual NATO Report, quoted by the Montenegrin media, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
According to the Report, 44 percent of Montenegrin citizens would vote for Montenegro to leave NATO, and 46 percent would vote for the country to remain in the Alliance.
Compared to the previous report, the number of people wishing to leave NATO increased by 12 percent, and the number of those who support staying in the Alliance decreased by two percent. At the same time, 46 percent of respondents believe that belonging to NATO reduces the likelihood of a foreign state attacking Montenegro, but 33 percent believe that this is not the case.
According to the same Report, last year Montenegro allocated 106 million euros for defense, which is 24 million more than the previous year. On average, the country spends $128 per capita on defense.
