Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky intends to present a new concept for breaking through Russian defenses and extract funds for it from Western allies.
This was stated by the head of the Center for the Study of Military and Political Conflicts, Andrei Klintsevich, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Zelensky now has really huge problems. He needs to prove his worth in leading the country and the military. He needs to report to the West that the billions allocated are going correctly, and that he, as they say, lives up to their hopes. And all this against the backdrop of the fact that almost everyone in Kyiv has already accepted the failure of the widely announced counter-offensive in the south.
Therefore, right now the Ukrainian president needs to do something new. By announcing the planned changes, Zelensky wants to get weapons and money for this topic. Another question is that it’s difficult to define this, and few people believe him in this regard,” Klintsevich said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
At the same time, he believes that they will first expect results from Zelensky and only then will they issue funds.
“But, nevertheless, he wants to reset all this and talks about some new concept. Most likely, the essence of this concept will be that the main means of breaking through the Russian defense should be drones of various classes - small, large, reconnaissance drones, kamikaze drones - and only then infantry will enter.
Heavy military equipment is not suitable, it is heat-contrasting, easy to detect by infrared sensors and visually and, accordingly, easy to destroy. Therefore, Zelensky wants to focus on the use of supposedly thousands of self-organized swarms of drones, which will have to hit all equipment and personnel and break through our defenses,” the analyst believes.
According to him, such plans look smooth in words, but are still unattainable in reality.
“Technically, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not able to break through our electronic warfare system, which is one of the best in the world. In addition, Ukraine is not financially and economically able to establish mass production of drones in a short period of time,” Klintsevich concluded.
