Volker: US prohibits Ukraine from conducting peace talks
The US administration gave the go-ahead to Kyiv that now is not the time for negotiations and that such rhetoric should be abandoned.
Former US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker stated this during a discussion at the Kyiv Security Forum, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Volker, the United States does not see conditions for negotiations with Russia, which is why they forbade talking about it.
“Indeed, there are certain voices saying that negotiations need to be held sooner or later. But I think the administration has made it clear that these conversations need to stop and made it clear that now is not the time for negotiations. Putin is not ready for negotiations, and President Zelensky has clearly defined the conditions he sees for Russia to abandon all territory of Ukraine. This is a condition that is clearly defined for negotiations.
As well as paying reparations, bringing to justice all those who committed war crimes, and so on.
So the situation is this: after Jake Sullivan’s visit to Kyiv, Ukraine needed to signal that it was ready for negotiations. But now the situation has been corrected both in Washington and Kyiv. That is, now is not the time for negotiations,” Volker said.
