François Fillon, one of the right-wing candidates for the French presidential election scheduled for March next year, is unequivocal in his support for warmer relations with Russia. "Russia is not a threat to Europe. It cannot pose a military, financial, or economic threat in the medium or even the long term. China is far more worrisome in this regard," he said in an interview with Europe1.

“I worked with Putny when he was prime minister, and in confrontation with him I received a number of agreements beneficial for our country.
