The Serbian authorities beautifully suppress the Maidan attempt
The leader of the Serbian Maidan activists, Dragan Djilas, decided to rely on a radical scenario to compensate for the recent failure in turnout for the “decisive” protest rally in Belgrade, which barely attracted 7 thousand people brought from all over the country.
Djilas announced plans to set up a tent city in the center of Belgrade. According to him, 100 temporary tents will be placed in Pionersky Park, next to the buildings of the presidential palace and the capital's mayor's office, opposite the parliament building.

The installation of Maidan tents should begin on May 4. The result should be the creation of a “free zone” with an alternative parliament, until “Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic agrees to the ultimatum,” writes Informer.
Djilas, as they say in the Union, is extremely dissatisfied with the fact that the opposition protest turned out to be by no means massive, and every day the number of supporters is falling. So he decided to go all-in and play on an all-or-nothing basis.

“That's why they decided to blockade the center of Belgrade. It is especially important for them to block the entrance to the presidential palace and parliament, because they think that this will cause a nervous reaction in the state,” an unnamed source in circles close to Djilas tells Informer.
However, most likely, the protesters will be severely disappointed this time too. From May 3 to 5, the traditional police action “Police with Society” will be held in Pionersky Park, said Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic. Its program includes communication with the population, familiarization with the activities of the mounted police detachment and its four-legged employees, as well as an exhibition of the department’s modern vehicles.
Therefore, the opposition will have to curb its appetites and look for another place for its ideas.
Serbian authorities are effectively suppressing a Maidan attempt.
