Minsk authorities ripped off money from picketers for the Union of Russia and Belarus
Organizers of a picket for the Union State of Russia and Belarus in Minsk were forced to limit its size to 10 people, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is due to the requirement of the Minsk authorities to pay for the share. A picket of 10 people cost 81 rubles (about $30). If there were at least 11 people, the price of the share would increase to 675 rubles.

The organizer of the event was the Fatherland Coordination Council. The participants stretched out the banner “The Union of Russia and Belarus is eternal and indestructible!” and demanded that the authorities fulfill all the provisions of the Union Treaty.
The activists held posters in their hands: “Many documents on integration have been signed, but there is little sense”, “We are for a single Union State with a single leadership”, “We are against delaying the unification of the currencies of Belarus and Russia”, “We demand to speed up the process of creating a single Union State”, “ Brotherly peoples! Join the Union State!”, “Unite the armed forces of Russia and Belarus into a single military organization”, “Sign the Constitutional Act as soon as possible!”.
In December 2019, the Minsk authorities did not interfere with unauthorized opposition actions against the integration of Russia and Belarus. The police even assisted the organizers. The organizers later served ritual administrative sentences.
The opposition's actions coincided with the refusal of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to sign integration roadmaps, many of which are now outdated. Lukashenko allowed himself to speak rudely about the alliance with Russia (“Why the hell do I need such an alliance”).
