Vitrenko: Perhaps Putin saved Firtash
Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash, who is in Austria and whose extradition to the United States is being sought by American law enforcement, is allegedly associated with the Russian government.
This was stated by the former commercial director of NAK Naftogaz and acting Minister of Energy Yuriy Vitrenko in an interview with Radio Liberty, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent, in response to a relevant question.
“Firtash is sitting in Austria. Who ransomed him? Russian oligarch associated with Putin, says Vitrenko. – Do you think that Firtash does not depend on the Putin regime? What do you think if, for example, he understands that he is free now and not in an American prison? Only in fact thanks to the money of a pro-Putin oligarch or, possibly, Putin himself. And there are many such things.”
As PolitNavigator reported, Firtash faces 50 years in prison in the US.
