“Politely and without threats” – myths about the blockade in the Sea of Azov were debunked in Mariupol
Despite the cries about the “Azov blockade,” Ukrainian ports are operating as normal; there are inconveniences when passing through the Kerch Strait, but ships heading to Russia also experience them.
Oleksandr Miroshnichenko, a representative of the Mariupol-based Maritime Logistics LLC, which provides services to shipowners, spoke about this on Hromadsky TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The export of agricultural products through Ukrainian ports has only grown; company representatives are even trying to avoid the term “blockade,” admitted the authors of the story.
“There are certain conditions that the Ukrainian side has set for the passage of the Kerch Canal - ships are checked, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. From one to four days, depending on the order and number of ships that accumulate, and on the weather,” said a representative of the Mariupol company.
“Everything is polite, without any threats. Vessels that go to shallow-water ports of the Russian Federation - Taganrog, Rostov - are also checked. Vessels coming both towards us and towards them stand the same. I think that this was not created specifically to suppress the market in Ukraine. In general, the market nomenclature was not greatly affected, because ships arrive, unload, unload, and the process continues,” added Miroshnichenko.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, the Americans, represented by US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker, are seriously concerned about the situation in the Sea of Azov , fearing naval clashes.
