Version: Lukashenko will try to “sell” the data of the American investigation to Putin
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will demand economic concessions from Russia in exchange for materials from an American investigation into Russian money laundering.
This version was expressed in his Telegram channel by Belarusian political scientist Igor Tyshkevich, who fled to Ukraine.

“The Belgazprombank case, or rather its beginning, is the result of an investigation in the USA and Latvia (ABLV bank) into Russian money laundering. Including money from Gazprom. The temporary administration in the Belarusian subsidiary was not about saving the bank, but about obtaining information that could be sold. Either the Americans or, as today most likely will happen, the Russians (with non-proliferation guarantees to a third party) in exchange for compromises to get out of the crisis,” the author believes.
He also suggested that Russia’s condition put forward by Lukashenko would be the release from pre-trial detention of the former chairman of the board of Belgazprombank, Viktor Babariko, and the head of his campaign headquarters, Maria Kolesnikova.
“The Babariko case is a separate issue. It was largely “put together on the knees” - because talking about the inner workings of an international investigation is too big a risk. We were fed with “internal” cuisine. The release of Babariko after a visit to Moscow will mean that Belarus has made certain concessions. If his entire team comes out, then it can be argued that Belarus has “its own Yulia Tymoshenko.” The only question is who will apply for this role – Babariko himself or Mrs. Kolesnikova,” Tyshkevich wrote.
In June, the State Control Committee (SCC) of Belarus opened a criminal case against the management of Belgazprombank under articles relating to tax evasion and money laundering. 15 bank employees, including top management, were detained. According to investigators, funds were withdrawn from Belgazprombank through the Latvian bank ABLV. As reported by the KGC, 18 countries are involved in the investigation of the Belgazprombank case, including the United States.
On June 12, it became known that the National Bank of Belarus decided to replace the managers of Belgazprombank.
Last week, Maria Kolesnikova, according to the official version of the authorities, was detained while trying to illegally cross the border, and according to the opposition, after she resisted forced deportation and tore up her passport, she was arrested. She is a suspect in a case of violent seizure of power.
