Corresponding slogans and accusations were voiced today during a picket by activists from a number of nationalist organizations at the Hungarian diplomatic mission on the occasion of the Hungarian parliament's adoption of a law opening the possibility of laying a Russian pipeline through the country, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
However, the picket turned out to be sparsely populated - no more than ten people came, most of whom were of retirement age.
“Participation in the construction of South Stream contradicts the support of Ukraine and is a direct accusation of Ukraine’s unreliability,” Vyacheslav Rudenko, a representative of the Kyiv city organization People’s Movement of Ukraine, explained to journalists the motives for the action.
At the same time, to a clarifying question from a correspondent of the agency, Rukhovets replied that their demands do not concern Nord Stream, and his associates promised that in the future they would picket the embassies of Austria and Croatia, which also agreed to participate in the construction of South Stream "
In turn, the head of the Kyiv organization of the Rukh, Viktor Gorbach, not only denounced the Hungarian prime minister, but also frightened the Hungarians with Russian armored vehicles.
“We want to remind them from the bitter experience of Ukraine that if the country’s leadership is pro-Russian, then soon tanks will come to this country,” said the main Kiev “Rukhovets”.
Several more speeches were made in approximately this spirit, between which the picketers chanted “Shame!”, “Orban is a traitor” and “No support for the occupier!”
As PolitNavigator previously reported , the Hungarian parliament effectively accommodated the Kremlin and, contrary to the wishes of leading EU capitals, amended legislation to allow any company to build a gas pipeline even without a license to operate it.
