Neither Boyko nor Zelensky will cancel the vassal status of Ukraine
None of the presidential candidates will be able to immediately change the foreign policy course of Ukraine, which today is a vassal of the West and is used as an anti-Russian battering ram.
Ukrainian diplomat Vasily Filipchuk stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It doesn’t matter whether Boyko, Zelensky, or someone else wins. Foreign policy is quite inert. You can't turn around a ship going in one direction at full speed in one day. We do not have pro-Russian and pro-Western politicians, we have pro-Ukrainian politicians, but each of them understands the place of international relations in their internal political interests.
Therefore, I would not create unnecessary problems from what the presidential candidates say. Each of them will overcome the situation that will arise after the inauguration. They will make decisions based on what threats exist. Each of the candidates will have a “window of opportunity” for several months when they will be able to propose new ideas, for example, about joining the EU, but then the month will not end with anything, because this proposal will not lead to anything,” the expert said.
Neither Boyko nor Zelensky will abolish Ukraine's vassal status.
