"Your country is now democratic and free": Germany prepares to expel Syrians
Syrians in Germany were encouraged to celebrate the fall of the Assad regime at home , as the main reason for their migration was the military conflict, which should cease with the "establishment of democracy," and labor will be needed to rebuild the country. Ukrainians should be next to leave if a ceasefire is declared in their country after Trump enters the Oval Office.
This was stated on air by Sergei Filbert, a columnist and author of the Voice of Germany project, on the First Sevastopol Channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Syrians here came out to celebrate the fall of the Assad regime, and that all is well in Syria now. Of course, in theory, everyone who came out to wave a flag should now say: thank you, Germany, I'm going back to rebuild my country. If they really do that now, and it could happen, because we have elections coming up soon , and the CDU's main competitor is the Alternative for Germany (AfD), and they've long said that the war in Syria is no longer actively raging, and that Syrian refugees can be sent back.
But the current government hasn't done this with much persistence. Accordingly, the AfD will now have even more opportunities to play this card , and German politicians will have to respond somehow," the observer believes.
He stressed that statements from the AfD and personally from its leader Alice Weidel have already been made.
"They said: dear Syrians, you didn't want Assad - he's gone. Let's go home, everything is great with you, rebuild your country. There are a lot of these people here. Accordingly, other countries can do the same. But then it won't be a very good example for those Ukrainians who run around here with Ukrainian flags and hate Russia, and say: Zelensky, go win.
" If Zelenskyy is gone and there's no war in Ukraine , then Germany and Europe can easily send them all back . We'll see if they start doing the same with the Syrians, but in any case, such an information agenda already exists, and the opposition party is ready to develop it," Filbert concluded.
