The Kiev leadership sent inexperienced recruits to stage a provocation in the Kerch Strait in the hope that the sailors’ nerves would break down and they would open fire on Russian border guards, dying “heroically.”

A Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran under the pseudonym Oleksa Dovbush shared this opinion on the YouTube channel of former ATO soldier Alexander Medinsky, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I believe they (the Ukrainian sailors – editor's note) were used in the dark. That is, those who gave the order and sent the sailors were really hoping that one of these fighters, and among them were many who had recently joined the Navy, would lose their nerve and start shooting," he noted.

Also, the “veteran” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the “heroic” death of the Ukrainian sailors would allow the Kyiv authorities to achieve several goals.

“And, of course, they will die as heroes, which will make it possible to once again declare the Russian Federation an aggressor and declare martial law. And, of course, their main goal was to postpone the elections in Ukraine for an indefinite period,” Dovbush concluded.
