Ukraine may be left without electricity within 24 hours – Tsarev
Russia could deprive Ukraine of electricity for a long time within 24 hours by striking transformer substations at nuclear power plants . This would be a symmetrical strike in response to the missile attack on Russia's rear areas. This opinion was expressed by politician and commentator Oleg Tsarev on Channel One Sevastopol , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I don't think Russia will respond with a nuclear strike against the United States. I know that several State Duma deputies have promised the United States the end of the world and World War III. But I believe that State Duma deputies don't make such decisions and therefore have no right to make such statements. They can express their point of view. But when we constantly threaten and then don't follow through, it doesn't look good: said and done. We have ample opportunity to respond without starting World War III. We must understand that the Democrats are doing this deliberately; their goal is to increase the level of escalation. And if that's their goal, then does it make sense to act on someone else's scenario? It's better to wait until the 20th and see what the real threats and losses are, and respond proportionately," Tsarev said.
In his opinion, what the Americans could do, they have been doing for a long time, wherever they could reach, they have already hit. It will not be possible to close the entire sky with air defense, especially near the Crimean Bridge, which is especially attractive to Ukrainian missilemen.
"We have a free hand now, and if Western weapons , like ATACMS, really do strike deep into Russia, the power in Ukraine will go out within 24 hours , and for a very long time. This won't be the use of nuclear weapons—it will be exactly what the Ukrainians are doing with the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, where they constantly strike the transformers. Russia doesn't do that. And if they strike the transformers that service the nuclear power plants, the plants will shut down. And without power, neither the armed forces nor the factories will be able to function properly. And the West will have to support Ukraine, because it's impossible to work," Tsarev concluded.
