The ceremony of raising the Victory Banner took place in Tiraspol on Suvorov Square, Novosti Pridnestrovya reports.
The honorary right to raise the banner was given to veterans of the Great Patriotic War Vladimir Gromov and Vladimir Lebedev. The banner was raised to the sounds of the Russian anthem.
PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the unity of Pridnestrovie and Russia, which is also manifested on Victory Day.
“Today, on Suvorov Square, as a symbol of unbreakable friendship and brotherhood, military personnel of the army of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Russian Federation, which remains a reliable guarantor of peace and stability on our land, stand in a single formation,” Krasnoselsky said.
After this, a parade took place, in which units of the republic’s power ministries, military personnel of the Operational Group of Russian Forces, cadets, cadets and Suvorov students took part - a total of 10 parade units. The Victory Parade was led by the legendary T-34 tank.
More than 15 thousand people took part in the “Immortal Regiment” action in Tiraspol. Protests were also held in other cities of the republic.
