The attack on one of the checkpoints, where at that moment there were local residents without weapons, occurred around one in the morning, LifeNews reports.
Unknown people drove up in four SUVs. Running out of the cars, they opened fire on everyone who was standing at the checkpoint. As a result, three residents died on the spot.
The militia arrived in time and managed to repel the attack of the radicals. Two of the attackers were killed. The rest fled, leaving behind some of their belongings and cars.
During the search, the militia found Right Sector IDs, business cards of Dmitry Yarosh, sniper ammunition and a large arsenal of weapons.
Let us recall, as Navigator reported, the day before the “people’s mayor” of Slavyansk Vyacheslav Ponomarev said that self-defense units were stopping any attempts to counter the military forces. At the same time, Dmitry Yarosh stated in advance that his organization has nothing to do with possible provocations on Easter.
