The event was dedicated to the 365th anniversary of the creation of the Russian fire department. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Crimea showed guests and residents of Simferopol special equipment for extinguishing fires. There were both the Kamaz firefighters familiar to the townspeople, as well as specialized vehicles, motor boats, motorcycles and SUVs.
“They sent us a lot of equipment from Russia - in particular, for the first time we had firefighting motorcycles. Specialists from Rostov came to us and taught us how to work on ladders, motorcycles and new fire engines. Russian technology, compared to the one we had, is heaven and earth. In addition, we got a Mi-8 fire helicopter manufactured in 2013. It is equipped with fire extinguishing tanks with a capacity of five tons. Previously, helicopters were sent to us from Ukraine, with capacities of up to three tons. During the fire danger period, we were promised another helicopter for reinforcement,” noted Sergei Shakhov, head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Crimea.
