10-15% of vehicles can undergo re-registration, the rest are either exported from the territory of Ukraine or are not subject to re-registration due to unsatisfactory technical condition. There are no penalties for non-registration. If he is stopped on the road, he is fined first 500, then 5 thousand rubles, then deprived of his rights through the court,” said Kuznetsov.
Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Alexey Eremeev noted that the unfinished re-registration of vehicles does not allow the full collection of transport tax and the formation of a road fund. “Therefore, it is extremely important for us that the re-registration procedure is completed. This will allow us to collect and allocate a large amount of funds for road repairs,” Eremeev said.
Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo proposed tightening administrative measures against negligent drivers. “As I understand it, the more often we bring people to administrative responsibility, the more people come to re-register. Maybe conduct a week or a month of checking in this area and call to order those who do not want to re-register,” Menyailo said.
