The FSB opened a criminal case against a resident of the city of Sevastopol, who is suspected of public calls for extremist activities (Part 1 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

“It was established that a native of Uzbekistan, born in 1984, being the leader of a group of radical Islamists, in one of the religious institutions of Sevastopol, conducted sermons using prohibited literature, in which he called for violent actions against citizens who did not share his religious beliefs.

During closed classes, he carried out ideological indoctrination of parishioners, involving new members in extremist activities.

As a result of operational search activities and investigative actions carried out by employees of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian National Guard, prohibited literature, documents, computer equipment, communications equipment and other items relevant to the criminal case were confiscated at the suspect’s place of residence,” the press service of the Crimean FSB management.

The pro-Ukrainian organization Crimea-SOS clarifies that the search was carried out in the village of Sturmovoye in the city of Sevastopol in the house of Abilev Rustem.
