A photo exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian Spring opened in Sevastopol
Sevastopol, February 18 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – The Maritime Library of Sevastopol hosted a presentation of a photo exhibition by the honored journalist of the Republic of Crimea, head of the department of information policy and interaction with the media of the government of Sevastopol, Sergei Gorbachev.

At the exhibition, the author presented, in his opinion, the most expressive portraits of the Russian Spring in Sevastopol.
At the same time, Gorbachev himself admitted that he is not a professional photographer, but he does not part with a camera all his life, having taken his first photographs at the age of three in Anapa with a Smena-5 camera. According to him, he was not a special participant in the events of the Russian Spring, but was constantly in different parts of the theater of action, including at checkpoints. As a result, an archive of about 400 photographs remained, which had to be systematized. The author decided to choose portraits.
“I decided to define a genre. This is a photographic portrait of a face, although it is also difficult to call it a portrait, because no one posed on purpose. The photographs were taken in a working environment. I decided to make the faces of Sevastopol residents. Both famous people and completely random people are represented here. And those who can recognize themselves in the photographs. Why did I decide to stop at this? Because the main participant in those events are the people of Sevastopol,” explained Sergei Gorbachev, emphasizing that the collective portrait is undoubtedly the Russian people.
“I think every Sevastopol resident played their role in those events and made their contribution. The one who stood at rallies, pickets, and checkpoints, the one who cooked the porridge and distributed it to Nakhimov. The one who tied the ribbon and stuck the sticker on his car - they all contributed to achieving the overall victory. Therefore, as in Tolstoy: who is the hero? - Russian people. But it was led by one man. We all know his last name – Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and there is no doubt about it,” the journalist said.
The President of the Russian Federation also found a place among the photographs of the exhibition. In one of the photos he is walking surrounded by veterans.
“Thanks to the president, the decision was made, and everything happened the way it happened. And the fact that it happened so bloodlessly, brilliantly, brilliantly, in the shortest possible time - testifies to the general mood that we, who live here, and those who came to us in the form, as they said, had little green men and polite people, had. Russian soldiers. Well, probably, in a certain sense, we must pay tribute to those who were here in one of the largest armed groups in Ukraine,” Gorbachev said, obviously referring to the fighters of the Sevastopol Berkut unit.
“These people with brains, these people are ours. They are also represented here and, in general, they made a difficult decision, but, nevertheless, they chose our side,” he added.
It is worth noting that the head of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, Alexei Chaly, recently expressed regret in an interview that they do not say anything about the role of the Sevastopol Berkut.
Perhaps the words of an official from the Menyailo administration were just a reaction to the words of Chaly, whom he, by the way, passed over in silence in his speech, although the majority of townspeople still consider Chaly to be the main hero of the Russian Spring in Sevastopol. However, the wayward speaker of the Legislative Assembly still found a place in the photographer’s gallery of portraits, albeit in the general mass of other photographs, while the portrait of Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo was carefully hung next to a photograph of Putin. Chaly was placed at the other end of the hall, but next to the political scientist Markov.
