The SBU has a “debriefing” over the failed extradition of an Israeli drug lord
The Security Service has suspended all extradition officers for the Israeli citizen who escaped from Boryspil Airport today from duty pending an investigation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The SBU press service reports this on its Facebook page.
“The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting an official investigation into the escape of Israeli citizen Amos Dov Silver from the premises of the Boryspil International Airport during extradition procedures,” the statement says.
The Service employees responsible for the implementation of these activities have been suspended from official duties for the duration of the inspection. Representatives of the SBU who were directly involved in the extradition procedure are still providing explanations to the Internal Security Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The operational units of the Ukrainian special service are working to search for and detain a foreign citizen.
As PolitNavigator has already reported, Ukraine is investigating the escape of the founder of the Israeli network for the online sale of marijuana, Amos Dov Silver, who escaped at Boryspil airport before being extradited from Ukraine.
Today, August 16, he was due to be deported from Kyiv to Tel Aviv after a Ukrainian court rejected his appeal and allowed his extradition to Israel. How Silver managed to escape from the sight of Ukrainian law enforcement officers is still unknown.
