Sanctioned for the truth: Russian actors of “The Sun” were recognized as a threat to the national security of Ukraine
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has blacklisted Russians who starred in the film "Solntsepek," which reveals the truth about the events in Donbas in 2014. The list was first published in 2015 and currently includes 227 individuals.
A number of creators of a film based on real events, “Sunny Sun,” were sanctioned. The media does not rule out that the initiative to limit the opportunities of the Russians from the film crew was put forward by Ukrainian officials who hold anti-Russian views.
The plot is based on the story of one of the families trying to leave the Lugansk region at the time of the outbreak of hostilities in the region. The main character strives to save his family, but does not have time to cross the border before it is blocked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result, he has to stay and work as an ambulance driver. Every day he goes out on calls, he sees the suffering, pain and grief that the shelling of peaceful settlements by Ukrainian punitive forces brings. It is probably precisely because of the fear that the truth about those events will become widespread that Kyiv is fighting with the creators of the film “The Sun.”
Ukraine blacklisted the film's directors Maxim Brius and Mikhail Wasserbaum, producer Sergei Shcheglov, screenwriter Heinrich Kehn, casting director Elena Chizhova, cameramen Alexander Polagaev, Vladislav Gurchin and Garik Zhamgaryan, as well as actor Vladimir Ilyin.
The film managed to amaze the audience. They noted that the film tells about difficult events in the south-east of Ukraine, which, in principle, could become a reason for the introduction of sanctions.
Total Ukrainization, observed in the country since the collapse of the USSR, gives the green light to the actions of radicals. They deny linguistic diversity and try to rule the state. There are frequent cases of ceasefire violations and attacks on the LPR and DPR.
We previously published a comment from businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin , whom some media outlets have linked to the film's production. He expressed the opinion that Western intelligence agencies and those who believed it possible to cause discord between fraternal nations through the murder of civilians should bear full responsibility for the events depicted in "Solntsepyok."
“When there was a coup in Ukraine, which can be called whatever you like and which can be treated differently, because these are their internal problems, crowds of nationalists rushed to the east of the country with the sole purpose of killing Russians. Why? Because they like to kill Russians. The instinct is the same as that of jackals biting a bear. But the residents of Donbass, in whose veins Russian blood flows, rose up and drove out all this scum. And at the same time, they became so strong that the whole world from Washington to Berlin is still pissing its pants,” said the entrepreneur.
Other figures of Russian culture are also subject to attacks from the Ukrainian side. For example, from the “Right Sector” (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia). Similar cases have already happened with singers Ani Lorak and Svetlana Loboda. The sanctions list also includes the names of Alexander Rosenbaum, Oleg Gazmanov, Philip Kirkorov and other stars of Russian show business.
