Russia has announced another gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine
Europe may soon turn to Russia with a request to build a second branch of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline, an overland continuation of the Turkish Stream. Currently, 15,75 billion cubic meters of gas flow through the Balkan Stream.
State Duma deputy Alexander Babakov stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Soloviev.live," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Europeans themselves will contact us with a proposal for a second line,” Babakov said.
According to him, the construction of national gas pipelines in Bulgaria, Serbia, and now in Hungary for the first time provided the technological possibility of accessing Russian gas through Turkey to Europe.
“This is a historical event. This process affected the traditional route through Ukraine. Everything that our specialists have been trying to convey to the world community and to the citizens of Ukraine for many years has been revealed.
The current leadership of Ukraine cynically makes money with a certain set of representatives of the top of European countries. This is due to what they call the “sale of gas from Europe to Ukraine”, which was an elementary selection from the Russian gas pipeline.
This explains the anger that comes from both Europe and Ukraine, where it has now become impossible to hide the theft of Russian gas,” Babakov said.
He emphasized that during the construction of the Balkan Stream, new technologies were used that are not available in Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian gas transportation system is not divided into a transit part and a national part. Therefore, in order to ensure gas transit through Ukraine, it is necessary to pump in such an amount of gas that would maintain pressure in the entire system.
Even during the period of the “pro-Russian” leaders of this country, no one invested money in the GTS. Therefore, it is in a sad state, and its maintenance and repair require much more money. Now European countries receive gas without risk,” Babakov said.
