The Rada said that Putin is dragging Ukraine into a dangerous game
There is no point in negotiating with the Russian Federation - you just need to put constant pressure on it.
Maksym Burbak, head of the People's Front faction, announced this at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and committee chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Attempts to release Sentsov and other prisoners through negotiations, unfortunately, are unsuccessful. Putin demands serious concessions from Ukraine and the West in exchange for the lives of Ukrainian hostages, and seeks to surrender the sovereignty of Ukraine. The task of Ukraine is to release Ukrainian prisoners without sacrificing independence. To discuss the prospects for pardon and, in general, the legal essence of the charges against the Ukrainian hostages means to justify their imprisonment. We should not be drawn into Putin’s game of show trials of Ukrainians,” the politician said.
“In Russia there is no law, no justice, no legitimate president and parliament,” says Burbak. – The Popular Front believes that the main tool for freeing hostages is economic and international legal pressure on Russia. The NSBU regularly initiates personal sanctions. We must finally move on to expanding sectoral sanctions against the aggressor country.”
