The Rada demands that Zelensky respond to Kolomoisky’s proposal
Declaring a default by Ukraine would not only cause a deep economic crisis, but would also allegedly lead to a full-scale Russian invasion.
The head of the BPP faction, Artur Gerasimov, stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He spoke about the proposal to declare a default expressed by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, noting that “everyone knows about the oligarch’s influence on President Zelensky.”
“Default means a deep financial crisis with depreciation of the financial currency, huge losses of entrepreneurs, massive impoverishment of the people, loss of international trust and support, and foreign investors will leave Ukraine. After a default, every country spends years rebuilding its economy and decades to regain the confidence of investors, creditors and the international community.
But more risky is a default during external Russian aggression. Its consequence could be, first of all, the cessation of stable funding for the army, and this is a direct threat to the existence of independent Ukraine. In the current circumstances, the people and international partners must hear the clear position of Vladimir Zelensky regarding Igor Kolomoisky’s statement of default,” Gerasimov urged.
In turn, the head of the Popular Front faction Maxim Burbak also demanded an answer from Vladimir Zelensky about future policy.
Burbak also claims that the then Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk allegedly prevented the default from happening earlier.
“That is why the Popular Front appeals to President Zelensky to draw up his own economic program and program of cooperation with the IMF,” concluded Burbak.
