The West will use the idea of reintegration of Transnistria and Moldova to achieve the withdrawal of Russian troops from the banks of the Dniester, who are now present on the territory of the PMR as peacekeepers.

Transnistrian parliament member and political scientist Andrei Safonov wrote about this on Facebook, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The mournful chorus began to say: “The Moldavian oligarchs are being overthrown, it’s the turn of the Transnistrian oligarchs!” In fact, we have before us an order: to instill in Russia the idea of subordinating Transnistria to Moldova, and then drive Russia out of the Dniester. Remove Russian troops first of all,” writes Safonov.

He believes that this order is “initially unfulfillable.”

“In Russia it is known that ALL Moldovan politicians advocate either the “withdrawal” or the “evacuation” of Russian soldiers and officers from Transnistria, hiding behind the so-called slogan. "constitutional neutrality".

Without Russian soldiers, both Moldova and Transnistria will be under the control of the United States and Romania. The Americans and Romanians, without a Russian counterweight, will try to close a “fiery arc” of regimes hostile to it around Russia,” writes Safonov.

According to the political scientist, the current leading politicians of Moldova would like to include Transnistria as part of a unitary country, so they categorically reject the idea of federalization.

“Even if by some miracle all Moldovan politicians - from Sandu to Dodon - said “yes!” to federalization, this would mean that it would be carried out within the framework of the said Agreement and without Russian troops. It is clear, and without participation in the Eurasian integration project. Federalization would mean not only the liquidation of Transnistrian statehood, but also the withdrawal of Russia from the southwest of the former Soviet Union.

That’s why the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was, is and will remain an independent state,” Safonov wrote.
