In search of “separatists,” the Mariupol police “covered” a secret drug den of the SBU
In Mariupol, the patrol police service turned into a political police. In the city, the police are carrying out operational activities to identify the so-called “separatists.”

So, in April last year, the personnel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Mariupol were tasked with “working out” all the houses close to the police department building to identify “separatists.” Particular attention was paid to persons who rent housing.
Fulfilling the order, three police officers, having met a man on the landing and found out that he was renting an apartment, forced him to let them into the apartment, where, without any warrants or witnesses, they conducted a search. During the search, they stole twenty thousand hryvnia and drugs. The apartment was also not easy. The windows looked directly onto the entrance of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It had undergone very expensive renovations, but there were absolutely no signs of permanent residence.
As it turned out during the trial, the police ran into a SBU safe house, and the detainee turned out to be their recruited agent. The SBU, like the police, was also minding their own business. Instead of catching “separatists,” they were engaged in drug trafficking.
The court decided not to get involved in the interdepartmental showdown between the security forces and took the path of least resistance: acquitted everyone and closed the case.
