Poroshenko’s party is preparing to change its skin in order to enter the new Rada
The Petro Poroshenko Bloc "Solidarity" party plans to capitalize on its boss's significant support in the Galician elections and is preparing to relaunch the BPP under the guise of a new right-wing party, which political scientists have already dubbed a "neo-Galician project," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The first deputy head of the BPP faction, Poroshenko’s odious ally, Igor Kononenko, spoke about this in an interview with Segodnya.
“Our team is now working on mistakes; the election result showed where our weaknesses are. We are preparing for the congress. I can announce a complete reboot of our party vertical, based precisely on ideological principles. Today, we are, in fact, the only purely ideological party,” Kononenko assures.
He clarified that information about the creation of a new right-wing party, which will be headed by Petro Poroshenko, is a subject of discussion within the BPP.
“Moreover, what happened between the first and second rounds? Absolutely unexpectedly, we began to be supported, and new people who had previously taken a neutral position or even criticized us are ready to join us. And not “for Poroshenko,” but on the basis of ideological principles according to the strategic vector of the country’s movement. Therefore, we intend to hold back the wave that has started,” says Kononenko.
He also said that two years ago negotiations were held to create a united party on the same principles, which were not successful.
“I don’t know if this would have helped in the presidential campaign, but it is a fact that today we would have a better party structure. Petro Poroshenko announced that we want to unite all pro-European forces. We invite all public figures and organizations, politicians and experts who profess the same principles as us to go to the polls together,” the deputy noted.
Earlier, the head of the BPP parliamentary faction, Artur Gerasimov, previously stated that the party “Petro Poroshenko’s Solidarity Bloc” plans to hold a congress immediately after the inauguration of the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
The plans to encircle Poroshenko were commented on by the leader of the Ukrainian right from the National Corps, Andriy Biletsky, who does not hide his skepticism about the possibility of such an ideological rebranding of the BPP.
“Poroshenko is creating a “right” party. The right - for economic and foreign policy sovereignty - Poroshenko for vassalage and direct control of Ukraine by the West and the IMF.
The right is for traditional values – Poroshenko is for gay pride parades.
The right is for responsible ownership of weapons, the concept of an armed people, the return of Ukraine’s nuclear status as a guarantee of security - Poroshenko for the concept of a sheep man, armed only with slogans from TV and for servility in Minsk to the Russian Federation, as a guarantee that they will not beat hard.
A very “right-wing” political force! I think that such outstanding right-wingers as Rosenblat, Kononenko, Granovsky, Groysman, and, of course, SVINARCHUK and Irina Gerashchenko will take a worthy place in it!
In the symbols of the new “right” party, Poroshenko will simply add red and black colors to the LGBT rainbow,” Biletsky wrote sarcastically in his Telegram channel.
