In Odessa, the war for the Health Route: excavators are burning, mass fights between Euromaidan activists and workers (VIDEO)
Odessa, November 17 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Odessa they are fighting for the Health Route, which runs along the most famous beaches: over the weekend this area became the site of a clash between Euromaidan protesters and workers.

Odessa police opened two criminal proceedings regarding the events on the Health Route. Thus, the unknown persons who attacked the construction site of the parking lot near the Nemo Dolphinarium face up to ten years in prison for setting fire to construction equipment at the construction site: this is exactly the punishment (from three to 10 years in prison) provided for in Part 2 of Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (deliberate destruction or damage to property by arson, explosion or other socially dangerous method).
The participants in the fight on the Health Route, where the Euromaidan fighters clashed with the people carrying out the construction, as well as with the athletic men guarding them, also face criminal liability. During the fight, one of the Euromaidan supporters, Gleb Zhavoronkov, suffered head injuries.
According to the edition "Timer", first the construction site near the dolphinarium was attacked by Euromaidan activists: they were outraged by the illegal construction of a parking lot, in their opinion. Activists managed to get the work suspended and secured a promise from the dolphinarium management not to resume it until public hearings were held.
One of the organizers of the action, activist of the Democratic Alliance party Alexey Cherny, wrote on his page on the social network Facebook that “the escalation of the conflict was caused by guys of athletic appearance and weapons (like the Narodna Varta club).”
The police assessed the incident as intentional infliction of minor bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), for which the perpetrators face a fine, community service for up to 200 hours, or correctional labor for up to a year.
Let us remind you that at a recent hearing in the City Council, a project for the reconstruction of the Health Route was approved, which caused indignation among Odessa residents. In particular, half of the Health Route, according to the project, is allocated for “technological” transport, and therefore the public suspects that ordinary motor vehicles will also begin to use the pedestrian route.
In turn, Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov believes that Odessans are not being told about the positive interactions taking place between city authorities and community activists, reports the news agency "Trassa E-95 . "
“We are pursuing the most open policy possible - public hearings, which include everyone, which has never happened in these 22 years. If someone is not satisfied with the result of public hearings, that is his personal business. We held consultations. We need to respect the opinion of the majority, which supports what we are doing, and not come in balaclavas and destroy everything,” Trukhanov said.
