"This morning, the number of trucks heading to the peninsula through the main checkpoints of Kalanchak, Chaplinka, and Chongar amounted to approximately 400 vehicles each," the State Border Service of Ukraine reported.

According to the department, in addition to the New Year holidays, the reason for the congestion of vehicles is that, allegedly, from January 1, the Russian side plans to introduce the declaration of all goods without exception, coming from mainland Ukraine.

The State Border Service said that in order to minimize opportunities for staff abuse, special workplaces will appear at control points at the administrative border, where authorized officials will receive complaints about the actions of border guards and immediately respond to them.

As PolitNavigator reported earlier, information emerged that huge queues of trucks, up to 16 kilometers long, had formed at the entrance to Crimea.
