According to Desir, such a decision by the justice system in the case of the murder of journalist Vyacheslav Veremia leads to impunity.
“I congratulate the conviction of one of the main attackers and the organizers of the attack, but I am seriously concerned about the verdict, which limits the right to justice for the journalist’s family,” said the OSCE representative.
In addition, he noted that more than three years later, the perpetrators of this crime have still not been fully brought to justice.
Désir also called for “full and effective investigations into all deaths of journalists and every effort to put an end to impunity for such crimes.”
Let us remind you that journalist Veremiy was killed during the Maidan in 2014 in the center of Kyiv at night.
