There is no unity in NATO on Ukraine, but Hungary alone is powerless against the hawks – Szijjártó
Hungary considers NATO's preparations for a coordinated mission in Ukraine dangerous and unnecessary.
This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó , Világgazdaság reports.

According to him, Budapest holds a fundamentally different view of the Ukrainian situation and prospects for peace compared to most NATO member countries.
“NATO is moving ahead with plans for a coordinated mission in Ukraine, a move we consider both dangerous and unnecessary,” he wrote.
He acknowledged the lack of consensus among NATO's 31 member countries , noting that Hungary cannot unilaterally impede such initiatives. The minister emphasized the Hungarian government's core objectives at this critical moment:
“Above all, we strive to ensure that Hungarian soldiers are not involved in this mission, that Hungarian territory remains free of conflict and that Hungarian taxpayers’ money does not finance these efforts,” the head of Hungarian diplomacy said.
Szijjártó warned of increased risks of further escalation and stressed that the government would continue to keep Hungary out of any potential conflict.
It was previously reported that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited Budapest, and continued NATO support for Ukraine was at the top of the agenda. The Secretary General of the Alliance acknowledged Hungary's reservations regarding NATO proposals amid discussions about significant financial obligations for military and humanitarian assistance to Kyiv.
