By introducing Ukraine's new anti-Russian sanctions list of nearly 300 companies and about 850 individuals, President Poroshenko, who is losing his presidential campaign, is trying to attract attention to himself.

Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party Andrei Turchak stated this in a comment to Kommersant, noting that he was “pleased to be in the venerable company of such respected people.”

“Petro Poroshenko, losing his presidential campaign before his eyes, simply doesn’t know how else to distinguish himself and attract attention. As they say, you can't breathe before you die. And we continue to live and work,” Turchak said.

The sanctions list included 219 State Duma deputies: 13 from the LDPR faction, the rest from United Russia.

“Ukraine has nothing to block; Russian law prohibits deputies from having foreign assets,” United Russia commented.

“We don’t give a damn,” said Igor Lebedev, vice speaker of the State Duma from the LDPR.
