Moscow offers Lukashenko a final decision on Ukraine
It’s time for Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to stop being a hypocrite and finally decide who his real ally is – Russia or Ukraine.
Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council for Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation, announced this on air on Vesti FM radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Belarus is now a gateway through which Ukrainian goods pass to Russia and vice versa - Russian energy resources pass through Belarus to Ukraine. Here we need to ensure that Belarus stops playing the role of some kind of smuggler. If we are parts of a union state, if we are some kind of integration union, including defense, then let us somehow coordinate foreign policy. We need to decide whether Belarus recognizes Crimea as Russian or not,” the expert said.
“Belarus cooperates in the field of the military-industrial complex with Ukraine. How can this be understood now? With a country that has declared Russia an aggressor, that is breaking all treaties with us, that is almost going to start a war against us. Will they fight together, Lukashenko and Poroshenko, against us? Well then we are not allies. We need to dot the i’s,” Bezpalko summed up.
As Bogdan Bezpalko previously stated, an anti-Russian identity is being formed in Belarus.
Moscow is asking Lukashenko to make a final decision on Ukraine.
