Gay and lesbian parade canceled in Moldova
The GenderDoc-M Center, which actively promotes LGBT rights in Moldova, decided to cancel this year’s march of sexual minorities due to the spread of coronavirus.
This was reported by the publication Point, as reported by the correspondent of PolitNavigator.

“We postponed this decision for a long time, hoping until the last moment that the Pride march planned for June would take place. The reality of this period, however, is that the decision to cancel is the right one in the current environment.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic will most likely end at the end of June and the country will gradually return to the old rhythm of life, we believe that we will all need time to recover to gain new strength,” the organizers said.
All events planned for the Moldova Pride 2020 festival will take place online.
In recent years, marches of sexual minorities in Moldova have taken place under heavy police protection, as supporters of traditional family and marriage, as well as church representatives, have repeatedly prevented these events.
