Deputy Minister of Justice Anna Onishchenko said that the scandalous 23-year-old beauty Anna Kalinchuk would not be approved as director of the lustration department, since her appointment caused public condemnation.

“Anna Kalinchuk will not serve as director of the department, since I am categorically against the appointment of a person against whom there has been such a negative reaction from society,” she wrote.

Onishchenko added that the work of the Department of Lustration is not blocked.

“According to the new distribution of responsibilities, the lustration department is coordinated by Sergei Petukhov, who has already signed his outgoing correspondence today. The lustration department works and carries out its functions,” says Onishchenko.

In addition, she emphasized that the vacant position of director of the Department of Lustration is being held in accordance with current legislation and a competition has already been announced.
