The Ministry of Digital Development told when mobile communications will become high-quality in Crimea
It will take two years to fully provide Crimea and Sevastopol with high-quality mobile communications.
The Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications Maksut Shadayev stated this at a meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko recalled that last December, at a press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of state ordered that measures be taken by August 1, 2022 for the further development of communications infrastructure on the Crimean peninsula.
“It is clear that our “big four” did not enter Crimea, but, as the president said, now they have nothing to lose - and they can go. This is important not only for residents of Crimea and Sevastopol, but also for a huge number of vacationers. SIM cards from other regions do not work, there is roaming, it is inconvenient and expensive. What will we do next, and how are you carrying out the president’s instructions? Crimea and Sevastopol today are our main priorities, how soon will the connection work?” – asked the chairman.
"The key operator, Miranda Telecom, has already made the necessary purchases; the base stations are in place. Now it's just a matter of delivering them and beginning their mass deployment across the peninsula. I hope that this program will be completed within a year or a year and a half, and the quality of mobile service will be significantly improved. We've also begun communicating with existing operators to resolve any issues regarding interconnections and roaming; there's nothing to worry about in this regard ," Shadayev assured.
“The instruction has been given to you until August 1, 2022. How will you report on the implementation of the president’s instructions?” – Matvienko clarified.
“We will report that the required number of base stations have arrived and are beginning to be installed on the territory,” the minister said.
