The DPR Foreign Ministry recalled the absence of a law on the special status of Donbass
The resolution of the conflict in Donbass is being delayed due to the lack of a law “On the special status” of the region.
This was stated by the acting Head of the DPR Foreign Ministry Natalya Nikonorova, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Despite the existing conditions for resolving the conflict, representatives of Kyiv are making every effort to achieve the opposite result - prolonging the negotiation process and the conflict in Donbass as much as possible.
At today’s meeting, it was once again confirmed that without agreeing on the Steinmeier formula and without understanding when the law on the special status of Donbass will fully come into force, it is not possible to move forward on other political issues. In particular, when trying to discuss amnesty, the main issue became the time frame of this process. A reference to amnesty and non-prosecution is contained in the adopted but inactive law on special status.
Continuing the policy of ignoring what is objectively necessary and enshrined in a certain order by the Set of Action Measures only leads to a delay in the prospects for resolving the conflict,” said Natalya Nikonorova.
According to her, only joint work on an agreed agenda and Kyiv’s conscientious attitude towards the negotiations can bring the current negotiation situation out of stagnation and become the basis for progress in achieving long-term and thorough peace in Donbass.
