According to the head of the Zaporozhye branch of the anti-fascist organization “Essence of Times” Pavel Volkov, who directly brought the exposition, Melitopol became the second city on the route list: the first was Donetsk.
“This exhibition shows the crimes of Nazi collaborators during the Great Patriotic War and after, as well as the connection of Bandera’s followers with the Third Reich, the Abwehr, the Wehrmacht and explains the continuity of many of today’s Maidan leaders,” Volkov said, as quoted by the RIA-Melitopol publication.
The exhibition was in Melitopol for only a few hours. At this time, law enforcement officers took increased security measures: a police cordon and a paddy wagon were stationed in the square where the exhibits were located.
Law enforcement officers feared that the exhibition would take longer than planned and would interfere with Maidan supporters, who intended to hold a large-scale youth flash mob “We are Ukrainians.” Both actions missed each other safely and took place without provocation.
According to local media, the youth action attracted a record number of participants for such events - more than 500. Young people danced and collected various symbols - the sun, a trident and a heart, in the center of which a huge national flag was placed.
