Lugansk, June 09 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The situation in the Lugansk region continues to remain tense. Civilians are being attacked. This was announced by the head of the “Lugansk People’s Republic” Valery Bolotov.

“The situation in recent days remains steadily tense. A large number of people left the republic for various reasons. But I declare once again: we do not have a humanitarian catastrophe,” said the leader of the LPR.
We are doing everything possible to ensure both physical and food security of our citizens. Please do not panic and remain calm. I would like to say that we receive a large number of messages from our citizens to the hotline of the unit for combating looting and banditry. The work of this unit is bearing fruit. Since its inception, more than 50 offenders have been detained. Today we closed Lugansk airport for receiving and dispatching aircraft. Any attempts to violate the airspace over the republic without sanctions on our part will be regarded as aggression, and appropriate measures will be taken,” Bolotov emphasized.
According to him, the airport is blocked by the National Guard.
“Our intelligence reports that they have differences. Due to inept handling, an unauthorized shot occurred during an internal clash,” Bolotov said, answering a question about the shootout and explosions in the area of the airport.
According to him, more than 2 thousand people were evacuated to Russia. Mostly children and women.
“Despite the fact that the fighting has actually shifted to Lugansk, we are taking the necessary steps to carry out the work of both the parliament and the government. Tomorrow, the Supreme Council of the LPR will adopt a law that will provide financial assistance to citizens of our republic who suffered as a result of clashes and airstrikes. This will be both compensation to the relatives of the victims and financial assistance to the injured people. Compensation will be given to those whose property was damaged. We will not abandon our people,” Bolotov said.
“I would like to note that recently the Kiev junta has intensified its actions both here and in the neighboring “Donetsk Republic.” Today, “Grad” destroyed the village of Semyonovka, destroyed and burned quarters of Slavyansk. And our republic was not without casualties: in the area of the city of Kremennaya, a funeral procession was shot by fascist mercenaries. The number of victims is being clarified,” Bolotov said.
“Judging by Slavyansk, the city is not an obstacle for them, and civilians will not stop them,” he answered a question from journalists about the ring of security forces around Lugansk.
“We see very well that... nothing is sacred. It doesn’t matter what and when to shoot at civilians. You cannot trust a single word of the Ukrainian authorities. We stand firmly on our ground. The time will come when not a single Kyiv occupier will remain on it,” he believes.
