In London they don’t know who can replace Putin

He stated this at a conference in Kyiv dedicated to the anniversary of Euromaidan.

“It’s very sad to see the attitude towards the conflict in Ukraine that is now in the Western media. This is sad for Ukrainians. Russian interests have been penetrating Western countries for 20 years. Russia has penetrated the economy, politics, and the media. The media writes a lot about Russia, but in reality we cannot imagine in which direction the conflict will develop; we do not know what is happening in the Kremlin. Russia's advance to the West is a threat to European civilization, an attempt to undermine the EU. America must accept its own leadership role. America has a leadership role in this process because of its size,” says Timothy Ash.
At the same time, regime change in Russia will not help Ukraine: “We don’t know who can replace Putin. Sergei Glazyev will be even more frightening. I think regime change is not an option. And this will not help Ukraine,” says the Briton.
In his opinion, Ukraine’s strategic goal is EU membership. At the same time, you need to understand that Turkey will not join the EU in the foreseeable future due to nationalist sentiments, but the process itself has transformed this country, Ash said.
