In the LPR there is a scandal with “Yanukovych’s wallet”: deputies demand an investigation into Kurchenko’s machinations
Deputy of the People's Council of the LPR Pavel Maly took the initiative to create a special parliamentary commission to investigate fraud on the territory of the LPR of Ukrainian businessman Sergei Kurchenko, close to former President Viktor Yanukovych, and his affiliated structures.

According to Maly, he, “as a deputy of the People’s Council of the LPR, became aware that as a result of the actions of officials and Ukrainian businessman Sergei Kurchenko, significant economic damage was caused to the Lugansk People’s Republic.”
“In the summer of 2015, representatives of commercial structures affiliated with Sergei Kurchenko concluded agreements for the supply of fuels and lubricants to the Lugansk People’s Republic. At the same time, it was stipulated that, taking into account the situation of the Republic, fuel and lubricants would be supplied with a minimum commercial margin. It was planned that fuels and lubricants would be used to support the sowing and harvesting campaigns of agricultural enterprises of the Republic,” he said.
“As part of the agreements reached, significant state funds of the Lugansk People's Republic were transferred to the accounts of Kurchenko's enterprises as an advance payment for fuel and lubricants, however, the terms of this agreement, on the part of Kurchenko's enterprises, were not fulfilled with the required quality and not in full. As a result, an energy crisis was provoked in the Republic. After the promised reduction in the price of fuel and lubricants, the supply of oil products to the LPR stopped altogether. A rush was initiated in the market, and agricultural work was in jeopardy,” the deputy noted.
Maly emphasized that “the fraudulent actions of the structures of a Ukrainian businessman, who at one time served the business of the fugitive President Yanukovych, led to an artificial increase in social tension in our young Republic,” and “the farmers who did not carry out work in a timely manner suffered significant damage, and the image of the people the state was put under attack by the manipulations of an unscrupulous businessman.”
The head of the parliamentary committee noted that “after a large-scale scam, which was stopped by the leadership of the Republic, Kurchenko launched a massive campaign in the media in order to discredit the Republic and the leaders of certain areas.”
“So, publications began to actively disseminate false data discrediting the activities of the Minister of Fuel and Energy of the LPR Dmitry Lyamin. A dishonest businessman does not disdain anything. They use defamatory publications and rumors, bribe officials to remove an intractable minister from office, and lobbyism,” he explained.
“To do this, I propose a special parliamentary commission to investigate the machinations of Kurchenko and his affiliated structures on the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” concluded Maly.
Let us remind you that the LPR Prosecutor General’s Office is currently conducting an investigation against Kurchenko in connection with the short delivery of fuels and lubricants (fuels and lubricants) already paid for from the budget to the Republic.
Earlier, the Head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, by his decree ordered an investigation into the activities of Sergei Kurchenko’s companies on the territory of the Republic. In addition, by the same decree, Plotnitsky prohibited Kurchenko’s companies and structures affiliated with him from supplying fuel and lubricants to the Republic and purchasing coal and other products on its territory.
