A number of supporters of the extremist group Hizb-ut-Tahrir, banned in Russia, were detained in the Simferopol, Bakhchisarai and Belogorsk districts.

According to this organization, security forces detained four people - Ansar Osmanov, Ametkhan Abdulvapov, Marlen Mustafaev and Ernest Seytosmanov.

“Before the search, the investigator presented a court ruling dated February 7 to initiate a criminal case for organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in the activities of such an organization, Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” reports Crimea SOS, citing the wife of one of the detainees.

Another Kiev organization, Crimean Solidarity, which sympathizes with extremists, notes in its blog that the detainees had previously participated in pickets in support of convicted Hizb-ut-Tahrir supporters.
