Sevastopol, January 19 (PolitNavigator, Semyon Dmitriev) – The first snowdrops have already bloomed in Sevastopol, which means that they will soon be sold on the streets. However, the responsibility for this, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, is much more serious than in Ukraine. PolitNavigator was informed about this by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea.

“In the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation there is article 8.35 “destruction, collection, acquisition, sale, or transfer” of plants listed in the Red Book,” an employee of the Crimean Ministry of Internal Affairs told PolitNavigator. – According to it, for these violations there is a fine of 1500 rubles for civilians, up to 500 rubles for legal entities. In Ukraine, Article 000 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine “illegal seizure of plants listed in the Red Book of Ukraine” was applied to violators. This was punishable by a fine from 90 hryvnia (about 510 rubles) to 1500 hryvnia (about 850 rubles. "In Russia, just like in Ukraine, there are raids called “Primrose,” where we will catch violators.”
In addition, in November last year, the State Council of the Republic of Crimea adopted a law on the Red Book of Crimea. It became the basis for the development and legalization of programs for the protection of Red Book species of plants and animals of the peninsula.
