In January, Crimean United Russia members will decide on a candidate for by-elections to the State Duma instead of Alexei Chernyak, who resigned as deputy.
This was reported by the secretary of the regional branch of United Russia, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic Vladimir Konstantinov, as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“I’ll be honest, I haven’t yet met someone willing to come and say that they are ready to compete in the preliminary vote,” Konstantinov added and assured that United Russia should nominate a self-sufficient and recognizable politician.
Observers are ready to argue with this, who predict that the newly minted LDPR member Viktor Bout, who spent 15 years in an American prison on charges of arms trafficking and supporting terrorism, will be the new State Duma deputies from Crimea.
