The US Congress is concerned about the recruitment of Cubans in the Northern Military District
US Congressman Thomas Kean Jr. is concerned about the recruitment of Cuban citizens to participate in the CBO.
He stated this at a meeting of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Several months ago, reports emerged that Cubans were being recruited to participate in Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine. “Has the administration determined that the Cuban regime either allowed or encouraged Cuban mercenaries to fight for Russia?” Keene asked.
Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols gave an evasive answer.
“We have raised this issue with Cuban officials. I have already raised this issue with my Cuban colleagues. Recruiting Cubans is something they have expressed concern about. Reports of this, I think, cause concern for all of us. Russia's military relations with Cuba are still important to them. This is evidenced by the fact that Russian ships are visiting Cuba as we speak,” Nichols said.
