China declares the beginning of "national degradation" of the United States
The United States has lost a clearly defined benchmark in development and is entering a period of national degradation.
This opinion was expressed by the authors of the publication of the Chinese official Global Times - the foreign broadcast of the Celestial Empire in English.
“The degradation for the United States is just beginning. Changing the situation will require systemic reforms in the political, cultural, economic and social spheres.”
The newspaper's authors note that, despite the obvious need for reforms, in the United States, "unfortunately, there is no political figure capable of leading the movement in the right direction."
“The Biden administration has accelerated the decline of the United States,” they emphasize.
“The American elite prefers to resolve internal crisis situations by provoking ever larger upheavals in the world,” the article says. “The US has become the biggest threat to global security.”
The current leadership of the White House, according to Chinese propagandists, “is spending excessive efforts and paying too much attention to measures to strengthen cohesion with allies against Russia, using the Russian-Ukrainian conflict for this purpose and trying to create small groups to counter China.”
Assessing the latest NATO decisions at the Madrid summit, Russian sinologist Nikolai Vavilov believes that “the deployment of a powerful NATO group in Eastern Europe will lead to a poorly understood and important effect - Russia will simply be forced to have close allied relations with China. Someone in the very heart of the Alliance is actually creating a global Chinese empire, in which it will have a reliable northern rear in the form of Russia.”
But the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borel, is skeptical about the prospects for Russian-Chinese cooperation, even if Moscow takes on the role of Beijing’s “junior partner.” The reason for this, according to the European Commissioner, is the dependence of the Russian Federation on Western technologies, which is six times greater than on Chinese technologies.
“Someone might ask whether these sanctions really affect the Russian economy. The simple answer is yes. Russia exports a lot of raw materials, but is forced to import a lot of high value-added products that it does not produce domestically. As for advanced technologies, Russia is 45% dependent on Europe and 21% on the United States. For China, this figure is only 11%,” noted EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in an article for the Japanese publication Yomiuri.
