In Kyiv they are depressed: We are turning into little Russia and losing the point of fighting
A war against Russia would only make sense if Ukraine were a democratic country , which it is not at all now. Ukrainian political strategist Serhiy Gaidai stated this on Radio NV , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" War allows you to ban work in the information space and accuse anyone of being a Moscow agent, or of having military censorship, and, of course, the government operates exactly as it did under Kuchma. However , we, the public, believed that during war, democracy and freedom of speech, freedoms and human rights must be eliminated. And this is a mistake. Supposedly, this is for our victory, but it is a mistake . Without democracy, without true freedom, you lose people's motivation to defend their country," Gaidai stated.

"By closing borders, shutting down TV channels, writing to the Council of Europe that we're curtailing democracy here, by eliminating elections, you're losing the country the enemy wants to take from you, you're losing people's will to defend it. And war loses all meaning . So, to win, we need something else – we need to defend a country that's different from our enemy, where totalitarianism exists, and where all of this is absent. But our government is turning us into a small Russia ," the political strategist complained.
